Yoga Nidra

Description: Yoga Nidra is a scientific method of releasing tension from the physical body and from the subconscious and unconscious mind, which governs how we behave and relate to the world.  A Yoga Nidra practice will create healing, de-program habits, and re-establish positive patterns into our being.  Yoga Nidra is a gentle practice first including postures then using guided visualization and body awareness cues to bring about deep rest.  Twenty minutes of Yoga Ndra is equivalent to 4-hours of deep sleep.

Description: Do you ever feel anxious or worried? Do you encounter times of frustration or feelings of emptiness?  Certain emotions present themselves when our chakras are in need of balance.  Chakras are wheels of energy which align the spine from the tailbone through the crown of the head.  During this 7-week session we will learn each chakra, their location and their meaning.  As well as focusing on specific yoga poses to help tune the chakra system.  No previous experience necessary.

Yoga for a Healthy Back

Description:  It is time to move beyond back pain and start creating a healthy back.  This class is designed to use postures that promote a stable core to support your back through your daily functions.  There will be a set serious of postures that we will work with every week and you will be given information to be able to take those postures home and continue the work at home.  Even if you do not suffer from back pain, this is a great class to continue to support your healthy back.

Description: A well rounded ISHTA vinyasa class (Integrated Sciences of Hatha, Tantra and Ayurveda).  An evolving form of Hatha Yoga, vinyasa flow, this class will focus on integrating breath and movement through steady, fluid asana sequences called Vinyasa.  Abby uses music for this class which makes this class invigorating and fun!  A fluid meditation and dance in motion, this style cultivates a balance between strength and flexibility, alignment and awareness, for a transformative experience.  Students with 1-2 years of yoga experience are best suited, however; students of any age, shape, or size are welcomed to experience the many benefits of Vinyasa Yoga.  Pranayama and meditation techniques are also woven throughout the class. Students should bring a yoga mat, towel and water.

ANYBODY can do yoga and this series of six classes will allow anyone who is interested in becoming more flexible, sleep better, and, in general, feel better all over. Yoga will be practiced from a chair or on the floor.  This class will also enable you to take your practice home to do yoga on a daily basis.  Yoga is for everyone. No matter what age you are or what condition you are in, you can experience the health benefits of yoga.

Create your Own Yoga Club

 Got a great group of friends or maybe just want to do something different?  Create your own Yoga Club. That's right!  Instead of a book club, why not form a yoga club!  Mountain High Yoga will come to you or we could book the Yurt at Piney Run Park (subject to availability).  All you have to do is get a group of 6-8 friends and decide the duration of the session (4-8 weeks recommended).  Bring your mats and we'll supply the teacher, the props and guide you and your friends in yoga.   Prices vary but, generally run $12.00 per class per person, based on rental options.  Cost is negotiable if participant is providing adequate space.
Invest in yourself and create your own yoga club with people you wish to learn and/or practice yoga with on a regular basis.

Lessons are typically an hour, can be longer depending on client.  We have three teachers that are able to teach privately and cater to your needs.  Price per hour is $75 dollars.

Mountain High Yoga provides instruction to privately owned corporations-please contact Mountain High Yoga if interested.

Yoga for Stiff Gals and Guys

Description: Wish to deepen your flexibility?  Please join Abby for a 2 hour class including warming up the body and then some slow juicy stretches leaving you feeling peaceful, balanced and maybe a little longer and taller!

A Valentine's Day Special-Partner Yoga with your loved one or friend.
What: Partner Yoga with your loved one or friend

Description:  Celebrate Valentines Day yoga style!  This class will emphasize supporting each other, laughter, and helping each other find balance.  Through this sense of playfulness we will learn and practice partner poses, explore partner breathing as well as partner relaxation. Join us for this playful event to celebrate your loved one and/or friend.

Master Class with Abby

Description: Join Abby for a two-hour Master's Class!  You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll sweat and you'll work it all out in this powerful vinaysa class followed by Meditation and Savasana.  Come prepared with a water bottle and a towel.  Participants should be able to do chaturanga (4-pointed staff) and push up into upward facing wheel.
