Must have a doctors note Pregnancy is a time in a woman's life that can be filled with joy, beauty and a sense of being connected to something larger than oneself. When we think of birth today, it is often filled with thoughts of doctors visits and tests. While such activities may be important, today's society has medicalized our pregnancy and birth process to the extent that a woman's emotions and sprit are often left out. Prenatal Yoga is an opportunity for women to connect to the long tradition of being pregnant and bringing new life into the world. yoga postures, breathing techniques, meditation and relaxation are an ideal way for pregnangt women to experience their preganancy, prepare for delivery and birth and to help new mothers settle into their bodies and lives after birth. Each class begins by taking some time for discussion and friendship with the opportunity to express how she is feeling and to ask questions. This is followed by centering to quiet the mind, bring focus to the body and help women connect to their babies. Prenatal yoga provides many opportunities for women to learn about specific techniques to increase their comfort throughtout their pregnancy and birth.

About the Insturtor: Lyndsay gave birth to her son in 2009. While she was pregnant she became certified in Prenatal Yoga and used all the techniques to help her with a delivery that she was able to be a part of and enjoy. Lyndsay found that the Yoga helped her to connect with her baby and to better understanding and accept her changing body and new role as a mom.
